The UK Buell Enthusiasts Group was launched on Monday 6th April 1998. This free and informal event commemorates its 26th Anniversary.

All Buell/EBR and Moto Guzzi enthusiasts are welcome.

Location: Sywell Aerodrome, Northamptonshire. NN6 0DN.

Website: https://www.sywellaerodrome.co.uk

Time: 10.00am till late afternoon.

Sywell Aerodrome dates to 1928 and has evolved from a WWII RAF facility into one of

the best General Aviation Airfields in the United Kingdom.

The Pilot’s Mess is an airfield café catering specially for visitors to Sywell Aerodrome.

The café serves breakfasts, light meals, and snacks from 10:00 until 14:00 on Sundays. See: https://www.sywellaerodrome.co.uk/aviation/pilots-mess

The Aviator Hotel is a unique Art Deco styled Hotel, Bar and Restaurant facility located within Sywell Aerodrome and overlooking the original grass airfield. Formerly the original Pilots Clubhouse and Officers Mess during the Second World War, the Aviator has been extensively renovated in recent years to its former Art Deco glory, whilst retaining much

of its rich Aviation history. See: https://www.aviatorhotel.co.uk

The museum is free to enter, however they do rely on donations to cover operating costs and to fund new projects. See: https://www.sywellaviationmuseum.org.uk

If you haven't been to this venue before, please use the main car park and Sywell Museum entrance. See yellow arrow on the site plan. Motorcycle parking will be on hardstanding, immediately on your left as you ride in.

Event report 15th April

Many thanks to everyone who attended the Sunday 14th April Buell/EBR/Guzzi meet at Sywell Aerodrome. It was a fitting way to commemorate the 26th Anniversary of the UK Buell Enthusiasts Group. Over 60 motorcycles were present, including 11 Buells and

22 Moto Guzzis.

As last year’s meet, we were very lucky with the weather, especially considering the wet and windy conditions prior to and after the event. To have 2 days of guaranteed dry weather over the weekend meant that people could plan their journeys with a high degree of certainty that they wouldn’t get a soaking.

Once again Sywell Aerodrome proved to be an excellent choice of venue and we would like to thank all their staff for making everyone feel so welcome. Together with Kev Meanwell and Ronnie who were on their Buell XB12X we stayed Saturday night at the Aviator Hotel on site. This is a beautiful building with Art Deco design and furnishings. It is one of the best places we’ve stayed at for a UK Buell Enthusiasts Group event.

The Aviator Bar and Pilots Mess Café were kept very busy for most of the day serving riders and members of the public. Sywell is a popular place for a day out being so close to Northampton and Kettering.

There was a good selection of machines on display, ranging from classic Buells and Guzzis to the V100 Mandello that was introduced in 2023.

Other Italian machines of note at the event included a MV 800 Brutale RR ridden by Shelley Hawkes and a beautiful 208BHP Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP ridden by fellow Buell enthusiast Alan Hawkes.
